Cannes Film Festival 2014

In a time when televisions were not available to the masses but only to the affluent, and when celebrities were but a dream to meet and “follow”, the Cannes Film Festival began in 1946. This marked the era of glitz and glamour on the Cote d’Azur, and put Cannes firmly on the map as playing host to the most famous artists in the world.

Brigitte Bardot, Kirk Douglas, Grace Kelly, Sophia Loren, Cary Grant, Romy Schneider, Alain Delon, Simone Signoret, Gina Lollobrigida to name but a few are some of the celebrities to have graced this marvellous festival. Celebrities such as Brigitte Bardot fell in love with the area and many stars eventually made it their home purchasing some of the most luxurious properties on the Cote d’Azur. Now the consultants at Elegant Address are in the privileged position to present to you some of the most luxurious villas on the French Riviera.

Today in 2014 stars travel to Cannes by private jet or luxury yachts to witness this magnificent setting. This year has seen many of the most famous people gather in hopes of winning awards such as Leonardo Dicaprio, Blake Lively, Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, Robert Pattinson and so many more… The festival itself was opened by the master of ceremonies Lambert Wilson with his charisma and cheerfulness and with his guest of honour the legendary Sophia Loren they set the tone for the 67th Festival de Cannes. Now we wait with great excitement and anticipation for May 24th when the winners of the prestigious awards are made public.

When travelling to the Cote d’Azur earlier this year we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the making of the Grace of Monaco, whilst being filmed in the grounds of the Grand Hotel du Cap. Obviously therefore we do wish the stunning Nicole Kidman, and the cast and crew the best of look at this year’s Festival de Cannes.

All of the staff at Elegant Address would like to wish everybody at the Festival de Cannes the very best of luck.
